Preheat oven to 400 F / 200 C. Peel yams and cut them in wedges lengthwise. Spread them out on a with parchment paper baking sheet. Mix half of the oil through the wedges and sprinkle with salt. (optional) Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
Deseed the red pepper and cut into small rings. Cut the green onions into oblique rings and cut the garlic into thin slices. Divide the broccoli into florets. Boil for 2 to 4 minutes after 30 minutes oven time.
Heat the rest of the oil and fry the green onions for 1 minute. Add the red pepper and garlic. After 1 minute add the broccoli and warm for another minute.
Yams should be ready. Scoop the yams onto a large bowl and mix in the broccoli mixture. Sprinkle with the sweet red chili sauce. Serve immediately!
