BBQ, 12 ounce beer can, brush, small aluminium pan, thermometer
Ingredients
1whole chicken
1can of beer (any kind)
1tbspminced garlic
1tbspfresh rosemary
1tbspcoarsely chopped parsley
1tbspcoarsely chopped thyme or marjoram
some olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat BBQ. Mix together the garlic, rosemary, parsley and the thyme or marjoram. Gently push the garlic-herb mixture under the skin. Rub the outside of the chicken with the olive oil, salt and pepper. Pour out ΒΌ of the beer and sit the chicken on top of the beer can.
Turn off one grill burner and place the chicken over it for indirect cooking. Turn down to medium/high heat 325/350 F. Close lid, let chicken cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Insert an instant-read-thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh. Without touching the bone, the thermometer should read 165 F. Carefully transfer chicken and let rest for 10 minutes.
