Stew of Onion Carrot Potato and Sausage
Equipment
- oven, parchment paper, pestle, frying pan, oven dish, baking sheet
Ingredients
- 1.2 kg potato
- 400 gram onions
- 600 gram carrots
- sausages of your choice
- 35 gram unsalted butter
- 100 ml milk
- some oil
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp rosemary
- 2 tbsp mustard
- handful of mushrooms
- salt and pepper to taste
- optional back bacon
Instructions
- Preheat oven on 350 F / 180 C. Peel potatoes and cut in pieces. Cook them and then drain. Cut onions in quarter rings and peel carrots and cut in ½ inches. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Put a little bit of oil on it and bake the onions and carrots for 25 minutes.
- Use some butter to fry the sausage, back bacon and mushrooms.
- Warm the milk. Mix together the potatoes, milk, butter, carrots, onions, nutmeg, rosemary, mustard and mushrooms. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle some oil in the oven dish and put in the mixture. Push the sausage into the stew. Put in the oven for 40 minutes on 350 F / 180 C.
- After 30 minutes put the back bacon on top. Make some gravy on the side! (optional) Serve with mustard.
